The Crucial Role of Accreditation

News | 31 October 2017

A recent IANZ report shows how accreditation plays a crucial role in supporting New Zealand's economy.

Crucial Role of accreditation

An NZIER report commissioned by International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) has estimated that using IANZ accreditation adds $2.36 billion to the value of our exports.

An additional $1.65 billion was created through "real" GDP (or economic) growth. Without it, NZIER estimated wages would drop by 1.6 % because of loss of orders.

The report also notes that IANZ accreditation supports production in sectors that employ over 357,700 workers, which account for 17 % of all employment in New Zealand.
